MISSION STATEMENT
- The news is full of patients with mental health issues being discharged from hospitals.
- These patients have admitted themselves to hospital as they believe they are on the verge of hurting themselves or others and are not in control of their actions.
- There are many examples of people who have been attacked or killed out patients suffering from some form of mental health problems.
- We believe with facilities and assistance this can be avoided, many care centres and closures of mental care hospitals has contributed to this growing problem.
- Another example of problems that we identify is prisoners who are under the mental health act prior to sentencing should not be locked up in a cell
- If a prisoner in this situation has been imprisoned this as is the case we believe, has lead to the high suicide rates of prisoners who have been diagnosed as bi polar or suffering from forms of depression or mental health problems, they should not be placed in these prisons, they should be placed and offered help by trained professionals.
- The waiting list to see a specialist is 6 - 15 weeks can you imagine someone who is hearing voices must feel like.
- One in four people have some form of mental health illness.
